Two Main style :

Xieyi means" to write meaning" or "sketch thought," refers to a freehand style of traditional Chinese painting that emphasizes conveying the essence and the artist's perspective rather than strict realism, expressing the artist's emotions and thoughts through bold, expressive brushstrokes, rather than focusing on minute details or literal representation.

Gongni, means "meticulous detail" or "careful brushwork," referring to a style characterized by precise, realistic depictions and fine brushwork, often used for court-style paintings.

There are a lot of styles between freehand and detail painting too.
